Project Based Learning Resources
Every course that NAF develops includes one major, or culminating, project; most courses also include a minor project. The projects challenge students to apply what they are learning in their course to the kinds of problems that professionals in that field have to solve. These projects adhere closely to the principles of PBL and are approved by John Larmer, an expert in PBL from the Buck Institute of Education.
This section provides valuable resources for teachers who want to further master Project Based Learning and design their own projects. Download the PBL Guide to gain a more in-depth understanding of how PBL works and see how it applies to three successful digital arts projects. The PBL rubric ensures that your project meets all PBL criteria, and the Project Design Template is a sequential guide for constructing your project.
Created by NAF consultants, Swanson & Cosgrave and the Buck Institute for Education, these materials will help you develop and implement effective project based activities in your NAF classroom.
