Project based learning and NAF’s Year of Planning
During this two-day digital storytelling workshop, YOP teams create a short video they can use for outreach and recruitment as they launch their new Academies. Designed as a hands-on, project-based activity that supports established YOP communications requirements, participating teachers use this workshop to consider their message, their audience and the key points of their programs and then work together using video-editing tools to create a finished movie.

This winter and spring, teams at five sites nationwide, including NAF staff in New York, created their own short films. Each workshop was professionally documented in a case study focusing on important aspects of the NAF Academy model and high school reform as seen in the context of this PBL workshop.
