Lesson: Graphic and Media-Related Applications

AOIT: Principles of IT
This three-day lesson focuses on Unit 5, Lesson 14 from NAF-Pearson Principles of Information Technology Course Curriculum. Lesson 14 introduces students to multimedia documents and graphic presentations, as well as the effect these tools have had on society and the workplace. Students analyze how organizations use multimedia products to shape audience impressions and have an opportunity to use graphic and media-related software applications to design presentation materials. They also define measurable standards for evaluating their PC Proposal course projects.

Lesson: Economics of International Travel

AOHT: Principles of Hospitality & Tourism
This three-day lesson focuses on Unit 5, Lesson 12 from NAF-Pearson Principles of Hospitality and Tourism Course Curriculum. Lesson 12 provides students the chance to explore the economic, political, and cultural factors associated with tourism as an encounter between “others.” Students compare local travel with travel to far-away destinations, gain knowledge of multiple currency systems, and discover how currency changes over borders and is exchanged. Students also plan for the economic, safety, and cultural issues that greet tourists in the process of travel.

Lesson: Ethics

AOF: Principles of Finance
This three-day lesson focuses on Unit 5, Lesson 13 from NAF-Pearson Principles of Finance Course Curriculum. Lesson 5 introduces students to the principles of ethical business practice, and to the kinds of ethical dilemmas often faced by financial professionals. Students study and discuss how businesses deal with ethical lapses when they occur, the consequences that can accrue to businesses that engage in unethical practices, and how businesses can prevent unethical practices from occurring.

This three-day lesson focuses on Unit 2, Lesson 4 from NAF-Pearson Geography and World Culture Course Curriculum. Lesson 4 provides students with a basis for understanding how the world and its people are divided geographically and culturally. Students identify the physical and cultural features that divide the world into distinct geographic areas, describing them and investigating various locales.

Lesson: Refining a Video

AOIT: Digital Video and Digital Media
This three-day lesson focuses on Unit 6, Lesson 16 from NAF-Pearson Digital Video and Digital Media Course Curriculum. This lesson focuses on teaching students how to give effective group feedback and use this feedback to develop an action plan for editing their rough cuts of "Project 2, A Documentary Video" into final cuts. Students continue to edit and revise their videos until they have satisfactory final cuts.
