Lesson 14: Graphic and Media-Related Applications
Day 2:
On Day 2, the students worked with their partners to finish sketching out ideas for their invitation flier that’s part of the PC Proposal Project, and then they took those ideas and translated them into digital form, putting them into the desktop publishing program. They also had to take those same ideas and put them into PowerPoint to begin to design their presentation for Day 3’s work. They took those designs–similar designs that they used in the desktop publishing program–and put them into PowerPoint to create the design and presentation that will be delivered to the client. We use the same design in the PowerPoint so that it would have continuity from the flier to the proposal and to the presentation as well. Student Resource 14.7: PC Proposal Project, Part 5: Designing Presentation Materials prompted students to think about different aspects of the design they should be thinking about–text, layout, graphics, things like that. For homework, students had to read Student Resource 14.3: Introduction to Multimedia and Student Resource 14.4: Creating and Delivering Presentations.
